Transparency at Multimedia Glossary

What is it? A positive image on a transparent base, such as film or glass, viewed by transmitted rather than reflected light. When mounted in a metal, plastic or cardboard mount, a transparency is called a slide. Also Archival terminology for a 4x5 sheet of film.
